Peter goes to DC twice a year with Levee Board business. The Boys and I joined him in 2007 but I missed Brantley terribly. We were so thankful that she was able to stay with her sitter (Mrs Carolyn) while we were gone for 4 days. The boys were able to enjoy the trip but it was SUPER cold and snowing. Peter was a GREAT tour guide. We had a blast!
In 2009, Peter was kind (and delusion) enough to invite my sister and her entire family to come with us to DC. We drove
separately (11 hours from Tennessee), we all stayed in one motel room -thankfully it was pretty large - it WAS AN ADVENTURE. Again, Peter was the ultimate tour guide and planner. He led us on the monument walking tour, had
pre-scheduled our White House and Capitol tours and kept us busy the ENTIRE time. I think he was making sure we had as little motel room time as possible - smart guy.
We visited The Smithsonians, White House, US Capitol, Union Station, The National Zoo and more. We were exhausted to say the least. The sleeping arrangements were tricky but we made sure that Peter had all the room and bathroom time he needed as he was in DC for a very important task! MONEY! Not personal money, of course, but money for the necessary projects that help keep our Levee safe and strong.
Did I mention that my sister has a family of FIVE?
10 people, 2 cars, 1 motel room,......... 2 weeks to recover
We love them! and they were VERY appreciative of the chance to join us.
